Han kommenterar på frågan om hur ITTF ser på att folk inte följer limförbudet/boosterförbudet:
Regarding your assessement of the current rules regarding glue and boosters, etc., I admit that you are absolutely right.
Unfortunately we were naiive enough to believe that the manufacturers and the players, at least at the highest levels, will respect the new rules. It is not so, as you just mentioned.
So now, unfortunately, we have to put in place NEW racket testing equipment to detect the cheaters. We will solve the problem quickly at the top level, but of course this creates new problems at the lower levels where such detecting equipment is not readily available. At that level we must rely on the decency and fairness of the players (I hope), or find new ways of easy detection.
This is our new challenge. We faced similar challenges before, and with the cooperation of the manufacturers (I hope), we will find a permanent solution.
As you can see I am hopeful and optimistic, but I am also pragmatic and a realsit and I know that we will have serious problems for several months to come.
